But two machine guns in front and one in back, made the tank almost impregnable, and 75 mm armor facilitated to this. Frankly saying, as always, under the armor I didn't have sufficient of space. But it is better to have a bad seat, than.....I.Z. -- Well, full speed ahead....12 cylinder, V-type diesel engine with 600 horsepower is pushing this mobile fortress. Nothing to say about fuel consumption. The tank is driving by two levers and two pedals. The steering is simple, in case you see where you're going, but actually you can see nothing, except what you see in the peephole. A narrow strip of shaky reality.I.Z. -- The armor is strong and our tanks are fast ... but it's not about the KV-2 ... 20 kilometers per hour ... it does not move faster.Actually, the fate of KV-2 family is tragic. This giant was not adapted for a defensive war, a lot of defects in the construction led to frequent breakdowns. And by the end of 1941 they were removed from production. All in all there were produced 334 tanks, our KV is unique - it is one of the last and as of today its location is at military-technical database "Mosfilm". And also, in spite the fact that KV-2 was released a very small series, it rendered good military service being a reliable comrade-in-arms for a tankers, as well as made a brainstorm for constructors to create the most powerful and effective self-propelled heavy artillery of the Great Patriotic War.I.Z. -- Probably, May 1945 was the same...
